1. Who should try a sailing holiday in Croatia?
Families with kids, group of friends, couples ... sailing in Croatia offers so much that it has something for everyone.
Croatia is a country with more over than a thousand islands. Big island with historical towns, small islands with pristine bays, beautiful bays at every corner. Sailing in Croatia offers a mixture of it all. One day you can dock in one of stunning medieval towns, explore the culture and have a taste of excellent Mediterranean cuisine. The other day you can stay in a remote, secluded bay, spend the night under the stars, reconnect with the nature and swim in a paradise turquoise sea.
2. Is sailing in Croatia safe?
Sailing in Croatia is extremely safe. Undoubtedly Croatia is the safest country for sailing. Simple data that confirm this is that Croatia holds 40% of global charter boats. If there is anything new in the sailing world, you will have it in Croatia.
With that mentioned, let me explain more why Croatia is so safe for sailing:
Mild Mediterranean climate and density of the island makes it so easy to explore and enjoy Croatia. Maximum distance between two islands is two hours of sail, and you can always find a secure spot for the night. Numerous number of marinas, docks, buoy fields, and bays for anchoring offer you possibility to refill water and stock up on provisioning anytime.
As there are no sharks, whales or any other dangerous big living things in the sea, the biggest 'sea enemy' (as we love to call it) are sea urchins.
Croatia is the safest and best sailing destination in the world for families with small kids, group of friends, elderly sailors and novice sailors.
3. Where to sail in Croatia?
Croatia coast and islands are so developed that we divide Croatia in 4 sailing regions. The best and most popular sailing region for your first time sailing holiday in Croatia would be Split region. Why?
Split region is best connected to Europe, and the rest of the world with flights. Split airport is the biggest airport on the sea side, and has a lot of marinas in the surroundings. The number of the boats offered from Split region is huge, and everyone can find a perfect yacht for an unforgettable sailing holiday. Also Split region has several big islands that are close by and offer everything that you could imagine. Have a look at recommended Split itinerary here: Split-sailing-itinerary-a-7-day

5. How many days for a perfect sailing holiday in Croatia?
Charter in Croatia usually goes from Saturday to Saturday. One full week / 7 days sailing is enough to really enjoy your sailing holiday in Croatia with the best price to value ratio. In one week you can explore and sail to different islands, visit towns, swim in beautiful bays and really get to know Croatia and it's culture.
You can go for less then one week, but we would not recommend anything shorter than 3-4 days.
Then again if you would like to spend more time in Croatia, we would recommend a two week sailing experience. With 14 days you can explore both two most popular regions Split & Dubrovnik. Please find more information about 14 days sailing here: Split-Dubrovnik-14-day-sailing-itinerary

7. What crew do I need for a sailing holiday in Croatia?
We mentioned before that there is no need for you to have any sailing experience, as we organize a professional local crew to help you with your sailing holiday.
Starting with the Skipper, you get a local professional that speaks at least one foreign language (usually English). Your skipper also has a role of your own local guide, giving you all the information about the islands, reserving moorings and restaurants. Taking you to the best spots, and beside the 'must see places', showing you the hidden gems of Croatia.
Beside the skipper, you can hire a Hostess / or a Chef service for your sailing holiday in Croatia. If you don't feel like cooking while on your holiday, our local professional hostesses / chefs will be happy to organize your menus and prepare some local delicacies for you. The hostess is responsible for ensuring the yacht is maintained/clean, provisioning, making 2 meals a day, breakfast and lunch (and snacks for the day). The chef is responsible for provisioning, making 3 meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner (and snacks for the day). If you prefer to dine in the restaurant, we recommend that you take a hostess for your Croatia sailing trip.
If you need a Skipper and/or Hostess/Chef service, please let us know on time. And always keep in mind each should have their own cabin.
